Questions.

What video formats are supported?
Anything macOS can play: MP4, MOV, M4V, and most common codecs. Files it can't play are marked unsupported and never crash the app.
Does VidViewer modify my files?
No. It plays your files in place. The only thing it can change is Finder tags, and only when you ask it to.
Does it upload anything?
No. VidViewer is fully local and private. Nothing leaves your Mac.
How many videos can I watch at once?
1, 4, 9, or 16, in a responsive grid you can resize.
What macOS version do I need?
macOS 14 or later.
Will it handle a huge collection?
Yes. Scanning is asynchronous and handles thousands of files without freezing the interface.
What's the boss key?
A keystroke that instantly hides the app. Useful when someone walks by.
Why does my screen stay awake?
VidViewer keeps the display from sleeping while videos play, then releases as soon as playback stops.
Do I need to tag or organize everything first?
No. That's the whole point. Drop files in and they're playable immediately.
