Collects nothing.
Sends nothing. Ever.
VidViewer runs entirely on your Mac. No telemetry, no analytics, no network calls, no cloud, no accounts. Your data never leaves your machine, because there is nothing to send.
No telemetry, no analytics, no crash reporting, no update pings tied to you. VidViewer makes no network calls, period.
No sign-up, no login, no email required. Buy it once on the Mac App Store and use it. There is no profile to create or delete.
Playback never modifies your files. Rename, copy, move, and Finder tags happen only as actions you trigger. Converting an older format makes a separate copy in VidViewer’s own cache and never changes the original.
Nothing is collected, so nothing is sold, shared, or transmitted to third parties. There are no ad networks and no trackers.
Where your data lives
Everything is a plain file on your disk. You can read it, back it up, or delete it yourself.
~/Library/Containers/com.vidviewer.app/Data/Library/Application Support/VidViewer/Collections/ …/VidViewer/Backups/ ~/Library/Containers/com.vidviewer.app/Data/Library/Caches/ macOS UserDefaults Collections are JSON. Backups are written next to them automatically. Settings are included in every backup. The video cache holds stills, MKV indexes, and converted copies of older formats; clear it anytime in Settings → Playback.
That is the whole policy. If it ever changes, this page changes with it.
